Size: The average weight of a gag grouper is between 5 and 20 pounds.
About: The best time to catch the gag grouper is the winter and spring. This bottom-dwelling fish is known for its flaky-white meat, which is considered quite a delicious treat.

Size: Goliath groupers are huge fish. Averaging 75 to 150 pounds, these titans can grow to the size of a quarter-ton easily!
About: These guys are caught year round. They can normally be found feeding on fish near shipwrecks and the like. Although catching one is many fisherman's dream, they are currently a protected species, so they must be released after catching. Remember to bring a camera in case you are fortunate enough to win a match with the Goliath Grouper. |
